The electrical performance of a cable compound is set by the whole formulation: the polarity, purity and permanence of the plasticizer all affect volume resistivity. DB44 is designed for cable sheathing and insulation formulations with stable insulation resistance, heat resistance and ageing behaviour, suited to conventional 70°C and 90°C compound systems, and can be blended with TOTM or DOS / DOA where longer life or lower temperature is required.

Dosage and processing direction
DB44 can carry the main plasticizing load with a substitution direction of roughly 30%–70% of the original primary plasticizer; substitute in stages and re-check electrical and mechanical data at each step.
Watch gelation completeness and moisture control, and keep specimen conditioning identical before testing so resistivity data is comparable.
Frequently asked questions
Will resistivity drop after substitution?
It depends on the plasticizer polarity and the whole formulation; manufacturer data and formulation trials indicate an improvement direction, but the actual result has to be confirmed on finished parts.
How do I choose a grade for 70°C and 90°C systems?
Both can be built on DB44; for a higher rating or longer life, blending with TOTM is recommended together with the corresponding ageing tests.
